MORRISON HOTEL, ORMOND QUAY

When PJ Hegarty built the Morrison Hotel on Ormond Quay on Dublin’s Northside in [] it was one of Ireland’s hippest hotels — and it remains so to this day. Upon PJ Hegarty finishing the project, the boutique hotel had 94 bedrooms, a restaurant, a dining room, two bars and a nightclub. The Morrison overlooks the Liffey, and is just across the river from Temple Bar.

PJ Hegarty undertook the project on a design and build contract basis. The building features brick and stone cladding, while the basement uses secant pile walls with reinforced concrete frame and load-bearing block work. The Morrison has one of the most celebrated hotel interiors in Ireland, and PJ Hegarty was also responsible for full fit out and finish to a four-star standard. We paid special attention to realising the vision of renowned designer John Rocha, who created the hotel’s many exceptional bespoke finishes and features.
