2000–2025Modern Capability, Global Clients, Enduring Ambition

The first twenty-five years of the new millennium saw PJ Hegarty move into a new league of capability and scale. With Ireland evolving into a high-growth, globally connected economy, the company responded by delivering projects that were larger, more technical, and more strategically important than ever before. This period is defined by infrastructure that supported national progress, landmark civic projects that modernised public services, and complex facilities built for world-leading clients across data, pharma, aviation, commercial, and heritage sectors.

It is also the era where PJ Hegarty’s footprint expanded beyond Ireland in a formal and sustained way. The opening of the first UK office in 2010 reflected confidence in the company’s civil and infrastructure expertise and marked a new phase of cross-channel delivery. From early 2000s PPP projects to hyperscale data centres and major aviation works, PJ Hegarty entered the centenary year as a contractor trusted with some of the most demanding and high-profile projects in Ireland and the UK.
